As the presidential administration of Donald J. Trump pursues its policy agenda, these issues continue to be hotly debated. On the basis of your reading of theNew York Times, theWashington Postor another national news site, select a foreign or domestic policy issue currently debated in the United States. Read and collect news and editorial articles on this issue. Pay careful attention to the ideas expressed in them to get a sense of the conflicting points of view on the issue. After consulting at least three articles fromthis year’snews sites, write a 5-page essay in which you make the strongest case possible for two opposing sides of the issue. Since the hardest part of this assignment is for you to think about arguments you may not be automatically drawn to, a good paper will present both sides of the issue with sensitivity and care.
