For this week’s Tuesday activity, I would like you to once again go down the Google rabbit hole. This time, you should explore the phrase “art of bricolage” (or bricolage examples, or some version of this) and do a Google image search. Don’t look up what the word means first – just Google it and look at the images that you find. As you search, complete the following:
* As you dig through the images that come up when searching bricolage, locate a minimum of 5 (and up to 10) that strike you as especially interesting or powerful. Save the images into a Word document.
* Then, as you are working through the images, keep a running list of words that come to mind to describe “bricolage” – these don’t need to be sentences or paragraphs (unless that works best for you) but keeping this list going as you look through the images would be best. Keep these in the same Word document that you put the images into.
* Lastly, at the bottom of the Word document, write your own definition of what “bricolage” is – base it on what you saw as you looked through the images, not on any definition that you look up online. The idea is to let the rabbit hole activity inform your understanding, rather than trying to be “accurate.”
