As you can see below, the Act provides substantial protections to pregnant women. I want to point out, though, that the Act only covers “employers with 15 or more employees”. So, if a company had less than 15 employees, it could, in theory, consider pregnancy in it’s decisions, although you will not usually see this occur. This also doesn’t address any discrimination that may occur by a hiring manager mentally, but never actually stated or recorded.
