This requires a lot of research in order to design one that is helpful to students. The educators need to change their focus from traditional methods of teaching. Such areas that needs to be changed include pediatrics, maternity, mental health and community health to concept-based courses. This includes presenting concepts across the life span and across clinical settings. Constructivism learning involves learners thinking about the meaning of concepts, and students construct these meaning by themselves. When an institution of nursing students uses the nonlinear approach to education, this can improve thinking abilities of students. This can be done when the faculty has an understanding of the curricula and roles of nurses in their developing profession. Nurses are not people who can be viewed as beings of memorization. They are lifelong learners who engage in practical work. Nurses should not be taught to memorize the concepts given by instructors (Fosnot, 2005). They should be able to have a reflective practice, self critique and gave a self direction. In constructivism learning theory, nurses are encouraged to synthesize information. Synthesized information is better than a memorization. Synthesizing information means doing more information to get meaning of concepts.
