Opposite to the popular belief, delegation does not mean that the managers have to give up control. They may find it hard to give up some control of projects, or they may not be familiar with the art of delegation (When to Delegate, 2002). Delegation is an art and like any other art, it also has to follow certain fundamental rules which make delegation more effective.
Besides these, there are several other reasons due to which the managers fail to delegate:
