This essay is based on the 1960 presidential debate between John Kennedy and Richard Nixon, which was the first presidential debate ever to be televised. Kennedy at the time was considered to be young, handsome and charismatic, Nixon was more of an “old-school” politician and did not embrace the camera as Kennedy did.
